Yu-Sheng Chiu (b.1999) is an Ottawa-based photographic artist born and raised in Chiayi City, Taiwan. Her work explores how solitude, oral history, and the ever-changing definition of femininity have constructed her experience as a Taiwanese woman in the geopolitical and psychological contexts. Notions of aloneness and navigation have extended to Chiu's practice by making self-portrait, portraiture and landscape as some sorts of spiritual oasis.
