As a painter the studio is where I embark on an exploration of life's profound questions around mortality, love, human connection, and the intricacies of the human psyche. Painting is a means of processing, a way of deciphering the world, and an attempt to understand the infinite complexities of the human person. I am interested in story and draw from a wide array of source material when I work including; historical artworks, myths, dreams, works of fiction and personal experiences. The work I will be showing at Artist Project this year is oil on wood, canvas and linen. I am a graduate of Concordia University's fine art program and a two-time recipient of the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation grant (2020, 2024). Though I was born in raised in Toronto, I recently relocated to the Ottawa Valley where I am developing a horticultural practice alongside my work in painting. Special thanks to the Ontario Arts Council for helping to fund my participation in this year's Artist Project!
