A graduate of Sheridan College's prestigious Classical Animation Program, Steve's graduate film, Elvis: Dead in Concert, opened the 'Canadian Animation Retrospective' at the 1981 Festival of Festivals, the precursor to TIFF. Throughout his career, Steve contributed to numerous iconic projects, including creating sound effects for The Inspector Gadget Show, producing the inaugural season of The Magic School Bus, and creating the YTV cult favourite Freaky Stories. Steve began painting seriously in 2019. An aficionado of “The Ashcan School,” he now paints in what he terms the “Lenticular” style - pictures that move. His experimentation runs the gamut from puppetry to cartoon to portraiture. Steve’s paintings are fun, happy, and filled with a myriad of details, drawing inspiration from vintage photographs, old movies and “what if” imagined scenarios.
