My ceramic sculptures are immersive installations that feature birds, nesting wall pieces, natural imagery, and floral elements. The birds emerge from the wall, moving outward and upward, which creates a sense of motion and release as they interact with shifting daylight, casting ever-changing shadow formations. Through these installations, I explore the human experience, using birds as a metaphor for sentimentality, connection, and our intrinsic relationship with the natural environment. The work invites viewers to reflect on themes of movement, belonging, and the quiet interdependence between humanity and nature. Each bird is crafted from an original hand-sculpted piece, from which moulds are made. The wings and bird bodies are cast separately and assembled in various positions and stages of flight. Final details and hand-painted colours are applied to create unique, individualized pieces.
