Michele Van Maurik is an award winning artist from Oakville, Ontario whose dramatic light filled paintings have quickly gained international recognition. She is known as the “Painter of Petals.” Her larger than life floral paintings had garnered the attention of the Arts, Sciences and Lettrés Academy of Paris, which awarded her the Gold medal for excellence in painting. One of the highlights of Michele’s career was being invited by the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts to be part of the Canadian Delegation and exhibit her work at this prestigious show held at the Louvre. Van Maurik strives to create works that uplift and inspire. For her, it is all in the details…looking at something magnified creates a whole different perspective of something we see all the time, but rarely notice. In addition to painting florals, Michele also enjoys landscapes, plein air, still life and portraits. Notable collectors include comedian Geri Hall and author Terence Young among others. Her paintings have been featured in numerous publications such as: American Art Collector (March 2025), International Artist Magazine (August 2024), Plein Air Magazine (August 2024) and as an Artist to Collect, Arabella Magazine (Winter 2018)
