In Mash Ritchie’s work, mark making becomes a gesture of insistence—a quiet resistance to disappearance. Working between drawing and painting, she builds restless, layered compositions that flicker between presence and erasure. Using charcoal and acrylic, Ritchie seeks to visually capture fleeting moments just before they pass. Often exploring the theme of fragility her work lingers in the half-formed and the nearly-gone, where emotion and abstraction meet. Mash Ritchie is an abstract artist living and working in Toronto. She holds a Bachelors of Fine Art degree in Drawing and Painting from OCAD University and is the recipient of the 2019 - Project 31 award. She has exhibited across the GTA, Quebec and the UK. Her work has been published in Friend of The Artist Vol. 13 and collected across Canada.
