Lori Fonger is a self-taught artist from Toronto, Ontario. After a long, successful career in the corporate marketing world where she worked in the financial services sector for over 20 years, she is now creating art full-time. She is inspired by the peacefulness of nature, particularly water and tries to evoke that same sense of calm and serenity in her work. To that end, she leverages monochromatic colour palettes in muted tones and simplified compositions in hopes to give viewers a respite from the stresses of everyday life. Her work also combines soft flowy brush strokes alongside thick impasto painting.
