Lauren Nicole Rice is a mixed media artist from Manitoba now based in Ontario, Canada. She studied glassblowing at Sheridan College and achieved an Honours Bachelor of Craft and Design. After completing an Artist Residency at Toronto’s Harbourfront Centre, Lauren now works out of Glen Williams Glass Studio in Georgetown, Ontario. In addition to working with blown glass Lauren also brings textiles into her work, using recycled leather, and embroidery to complement and accentuate her sculptures. In 2025 Lauren received the Dorothy Elaine McPherson award for mixed media craft from Craft Ontario for her latest body of work which explores the themes of queer joy, connection, and community through the mixed medium of blown glass adorned with recycled leather.
