Born in Toronto, Kylie Sandford has lived and worked in Estrie, Québec for the last 15 years, away from the city to be surrounded by nature. Her oil paintings focus on a close observation of the natural environment and bringing the eyes to a small field of view. The intent to describe the detail of the small worlds existing just under foot is a way to recreate the emotion of encountering the colours of a garden, to record memories of earlier times and to clear away the noise and find calm. She completed her BFA at Concordia University, Montreal, which included studies in Nîmes, France. Her work can be found in private collections internationally.
