Based in Toronto, Karen has lived in many parts of the world teaching art in schools and universities while pursuing her own studio work. Primarily trained as a painter, her woodcuts, lino-cuts and monoprints represent 13 years of printmaking as her primary medium. Her subjects are eclectic featuring nature-based images as well as figurative work.
