Born on April 4, 1984, in Saint-Basile, New Brunswick, Jos's journey as an artist began at a young age, inspired by Ninja Turtles and action heroes. His passion for art led him to study at OCAD, where he graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor of Design, Illustration. Jos's artistic journey took him to Toronto, where he pursued his dream of becoming a full-time artist. He worked as a freelance illustrator and art installer for galleries like Patel Brown and Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), while dedicating most of his time to his Rogers Rd. studio. Jos was known for his unwavering support for fellow artists, always attending gallery showings and exploring the city's art scene. In March 2024, Jos's latest work, "Over The Edge," was showcased at Thus Gallery. His unique collage process, described as a combination of sculpture and painting, created a powerful and immersive experience. Jos's art captures the essence of his creative spirit, leaving a lasting impression on all who encounter it. Jos passed away on June 13, 2024, from diabetic ketoacidosis, a complication of diabetes. His absence has left a profound void in the hearts of many, but his legacy lives on through his art and the support of the art community. Friends and fellow artists have come together to ensure Jos's work continues to inspire and touch lives.
