Hyeseong Cho is a Korean Canadian artist based in Toronto, whose practice explores the depths of human emotion rooted in personal experience. She holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Painting from Hongik University in Seoul and has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Seoul and Canada. Through recurring motifs of windows and doors, Cho examines themes of human vulnerability and existential anxiety. Working primarily with oil paint and charcoal, her semi-abstract compositions evoke reflections on the absurdity of existence, inviting viewers to contemplate hidden realities and fundamental questions of being. Her work opens thresholds to introspection, offering layered narratives and multiple interpretations.
