Main

I am a South African and Canadian transdisciplinary artist based in Toronto, Ontario. Growing up in British Columbia, I was deeply influenced by the region’s diverse environmental ecology, which I’ve blended with the traditional stylistic practices of South African art. I studied at Emily Carr University before moving to Toronto, where I completed my Honours BFA at York University in 2023. Currently, I’m pursuing my MFA at OCAD in the Interdisciplinary Arts, Media, and Design program. Through my engagement with Toronto’s vibrant arts scene and its underground subcultures, my practice has evolved from expressionist portraiture to contemporary works exploring diasporic narratives of identity, culture and community. Primarily, my creative focus regards subjects that obscure reality and question representation by composing diverse visual narratives. Through oils, textiles and mixed media, I create abstract reflections that seek to deconstruct societal norms and archetypes, offering a deeper exploration of how our environments, histories, and collective experiences influence our core sense of self.
