Diana Hillman’s award-winning paintings are based on photographs she's taken while travelling across the continent. She is interested in exploring the atmosphere of liminal or transitional spaces - in both her landscapes and her studies of people in airports and stations. Diana's landscapes look at where the shoreline meets the water, where the earth disappears at the horizon, or where buildings and roads encroach on fields and forests. She uses delicate layers of oil paint, often highlighted with chalk or pencil, to create her evocative works. An elected member of the Ontario Society of Artists and the Colour and Form Society, Diana is based in Caledon, Ontario.
