Danijela Gorley is a photographic artist living and working in Toronto, Canada. Born in the former Yugoslavia, Danijela immigrated to Canada in 1990 and has been focusing her practice in photography since the beginning of her formal artistic studies of Art and Art History at U of T and Photography at Sheridan College, graduating in 2000. Her works have been exhibited across Ontario and internationally in the United States. Her work is represented in the public collections of Art Metropole, Toronto; The National Library of Quebec, and private collections in Toronto. Danijela’s practice investigates beauty as a critical and restorative force within contemporary culture. Her work addresses themes of fragmentation, healing, and transformation through visual strategies that emphasize reconnection to nature, embodied experience, and cyclical time. Utilizing blur and painterly lighting, she creates atmospheric images that foreground intimacy, sensuality, and femininity while evoking a sense of mystery. Her practice ultimately centers on re-establishing connections between self, environment, and origin.
