Andrea Elmhirst is a Canadian fibre artist and founder of Heritage Felt, known for her large-scale felted birch wall sculptures. Working full time in her practice, she transforms raw wool into richly textured pieces inspired by northern forests and time spent canoeing and walking wilderness trails. Her work explores memory, place, and the human need for quiet in contemporary life. Through traditional wet-felting techniques and a strong commitment to craftsmanship, Andrea creates tactile surfaces that echo weathered bark and moss. Her birch series reflects her belief that art should be sensory, grounding, and deeply connected to the land.
